Rooms and Spaces
Baby Room – for children aged 3 to 20 months
A calm and caring space designed to support early development and provide plenty of cuddles and comfort.
Toddler Room – for children aged 20 to 36 months
Encouraging independence and curiosity through play, exploration, and early communication.
Cosy Sleep Room - A quiet, peaceful room with comfortable cots for restful naps and sweet dreams.
Preschool Play Room – for children aged 3 to 5 years
A bright and engaging space for early learning, creativity, and confidence building.
Preschool Messy Room - A dedicated area for arts, crafts, and sensory play . Where children can get creative and explore textures and materials.
Nappy changing and Toilet areas - We have toilet area for children located in preschool. We also have nappy changing facilities located in each room.
Outdoor Areas
Two Garden Areas - Spacious, secure gardens for outdoor play and learning in all weathers.
Planting and Growing Garden - A hands-on area where children can learn to care for plants and watch them grow.
Healthy Snacks
All children are provided with breakfast and healthy snacks throughout the day, helping to keep them energised and ready to learn.
Our Baby Room & Toddler Room
At The Wendy House, we welcome babies from 3 months up to 36 months old.
Our Baby and Toddler areas provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment where little ones can explore, learn, and grow — both indoors and outdoors.
We offer a wide range of resources and play opportunities, as we believe that children learn best through play. Every activity is thoughtfully planned to encourage curiosity, confidence, and early development.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) — the government framework for early education — to ensure that every child receives the highest standard of care and learning.
To provide individual attention and support, we maintain excellent staff-to-child ratios:
- 1:3 for children aged 0–2 years
- 1:5 for children aged 2–3 years
Our Preschool Messy Room and Play Room
At The Wendy House, we welcome preschool children from 36 months old until they leave us to start school.
Our Preschool environment offers a free-flow layout, allowing children to move confidently between the indoor rooms and garden. This encourages independence, creativity, and choice in their play.
We provide a wide range of activities and learning experiences that support each child’s development across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) — the government framework for early education.
Our experienced practitioners help prepare children for a smooth transition to school, working closely with local schools and teachers. We regularly invite teachers to visit or speak with the children, ensuring each child’s move to their new school is a positive, confident experience.
To support every child’s individual needs and development, we maintain excellent staff-to-child ratios:
- 1:8 for children aged 3 years and over
Our Garden Areas
We are fortunate to have three beautiful garden areas for our children — one for our Babies and Toddlers, one for our Preschool, and another dedicated to planting and growing.
We love to make the most of the outdoors and try to go out in all weathers, as we believe children truly thrive in the fresh air. To help them enjoy their time outside comfortably, we provide Wendy House coats, all-in-ones, and both summer and winter hats.
